Salford LGBT Network
Minutes 21.1.09.

Present: Pete, Peter, Ben, Rob, Jon, Robin, Barbara, David, Josh, Lisa

Apologies: Howard, Bernie

Network Website

• David updated us with his ideas for the website which were approved by the group. It was agreed that David would be paid £1000 in total for his work on the website that needs to be invoiced before 31st March. An initial invoice for £300 will be paid pending approval of the work. A fee will be negotiated for ongoing administration of the website post March once funding has been confirmed.  A ‘hits’ counter will be added to the website
• It was agreed that the domain for the website should be in the name of the LGBT Network, not of any one individual.
• Lisa will contact Malcolm for the domain information and password

Operation Inkjet Update

• Rob informed us that Operation Inkjet has now come to an end. Police efforts are now being concentrated on the Renault Garage area of Trinity Way

Sustainable Communities

• Jon explained the 7 different strands of the strategy. An event is being held to give members of the community the opportunity to feedback on it but feedback can also be given online at: www.partnersinsalford.org

Draft Healthy Weight Strategy

• This was circulated to Network members a few weeks ago. Lisa agreed to re-circulate it and ask Network members for feedback as to how the Network maybe able to link into the strategy eg in terms of increasing physical activity. Comments/feedback to be sent to Lisa or Rob asap.

Bank Account

• Our finances are still being dealt with by the CVS as they still hold our bank account for us. Rob and Peter as the network Chair and Treasurer respectively, agreed to make sure our own account is opened asap.

Funding of the Network

• Jon explained that the CVS are going to be managing the Network again rather than Partners IN Salford. We will have to await the CVS decision re funding post March in respect of what is regarded as community engagement – will it include the Communities of Interest?
